Zheng-Hong Lu

Prof. Zheng-Hong Lu is a professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto. He created one of Canada’s premier laboratories for OLED research. He is a recognized pioneer in his field of study and has a proven track record of producing practical and innovative OLED technology. For instance, his group invented an OLED application method of making ohmic cathodes using fullerene. This new cathode enables the OLED to operate at lower voltages thereby improving its lifetime. Norel Optronics, a spin-off company, was formed from this patented technology. Lu has successfully coordinated multi-institutional collaborative research, with participants from Bell Labs, Texas Instruments, Nortel Networks, and the National Research Council, on establishing an accurate method for absolute thickness measurement of gate-dielectrics.
